Not sure what office hours are all about?  Continue reading for tips on how to prepare for your meetings:

  1. Treat Office hours just like an Informational Interview. Do your research first, you may not know who you are meeting with but you do know what company they are representing. Make sure that you learn as much as you can about them from their company website and follow them on social media to learn the latest and greatest.Do come prepared with questions you want answered. Show that them you prepared for this meeting by sharing with them what you have learned to get to those deeper, personal experiences, insights questions.
  2. Make sure you know your brand and what makes you a unique and valuable candidate to THEIR firm. At some point during the meeting you will get an opportunity to tell them a bit about yourself. Make sure you know your unique value to them based on what you have learned they are looking for. Be able to communicate your value in a professional and succinct way.
  3. Be a professional! Realize that this is a business meeting and you need to represent yourself as a business professional. It might be summer and you may be on campus but that’s no excuse to for showing up in shorts and a t-shirt, slouching in your chair or not being prepared with written out questions or your business card. Remember they are sizing you up as a potential candidate.

Have fun and remember they want to get to know the real you!
